AJK IRD Inspector suspended for alleged gross misconduct

MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Authorities have suspended Ashfaq Hussain Rathore, Inspector Inland Revenue Department of AJK government, from service for allegedly indulging in gross misconduct during performance of his official duties, it was officially said.

Commissioner Inland Revenue (South Zone) Mirpur, Syed Anser Ali, has been appointed as “Inquiry Officer” in the case.

AJK government initiates disciplinary proceedings

“The Secretary Inland Revenue Department (the Authority) of AJK government has accorded following approvals: In terms of Rule 05 of the Azad Jammu & Kashmir CiviI Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1977 Initiation of Disciplinary Proceedings against Mr. Ashfaq Hussain Rathore, Inspector Inland Revenue (BS-16) on account of gross misconduct”, said an official notification issued by the Secretary IRD AJK on Saturday.

The notification continued as saying, “Dr. Shazia Habib, Additional Commissioner Inland Revenue (Range-I), Muzaffarabad is appointed as “Authorized Officer in terms of Rules 5 & 6 of the Azad Jammu & Kashmir Civil Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules 1977 to issue Charge Sheet and to frame Suarement of Allegations against the above official.”

Syed Anser Ali, Commissioner Inland Revenue (South Zone) Mirpur is appointed as “Inquiry Officer” in terms of Rule 6-B of the Azad Jammu & Kashmir Civil Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1977 to conduct further proceedings under Law within stipulated time. The above-mentioned official has been suspended vide Order No. IRD:/150.-:7.2025 dated 26.05.2025 shall immediately report to the office of the Inquiry 0fficer,” the notification concluded.
