MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) of Azad Kashmir on Thursday extended the date of filing of income tax returns for the tax year 2024-25 till October 31.
According to the notification, the “President of Azad Kashmir has been pleased to accord approval to extend the date of filing of Income Tax Returns for the Tax year 2024-25 till 31st October, 2025.”
The Inland Revenue Department issued the directives in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 4 (2) of the Azad Jammu & Kashmir Central Board of Revenue Act, 2020, read with Section 214A of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001.
Earlier on Wednesday, the FBR also extended the October 15 deadline for filing income tax returns to October 31.
The tax-collecting body said that the deadline was being extended following requests from trade bodies and tax bar associations, and was being implemented as per Section 214A of the 2001 Income Tax Ordinance.
“The Federal Board of Revenue is pleased to communicate that the date of filing of Income Tax Return for Tax Year 2025, for the persons who were required to file their returns by September 30, 2025 and was extended up to October 15th, 2025 … is further extended to October 31, 2025, in view of the requests from various trade bodies and tax bar associations,” the notification read.
