MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Education Department of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has announced a temporary exemption from the morning assembly in all government schools across the state.
The decision was taken in view of public demand due to prevailing weather conditions and administrative considerations.
According to an official notification issued by the School Education Department, students have been exempted from attending the morning assembly until February 15, 2026.
“The decision has been taken following requests from parents, teachers, and the general public,” it added.
The notification clarified that while the morning assembly will remain suspended during this period, teaching activities will continue as per the existing schedule, and student attendance will commence daily at 8:30 AM.
The Education Department has directed all District Education Officers, Head Teachers, and relevant staff to ensure strict implementation of the decision so that students do not face any inconvenience.
The department further stated that it remains committed to public welfare and student convenience and will continue to take measures, in consultation with stakeholders, to improve the overall educational environment in Azad Kashmir.
