AJK govt notifies rise in minimum wage for its employees

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has announced a significant increase in the minimum wage for government employees, raising it from Rs 25,000 to Rs 37,000 per month.

The Finance Department of the Azad Kashmir government issued a notification in this regard.

“The Minimum Wage rates for Contingent Paid Staff working in Government Departments have been revised from the existing Rs 25000/- per month to Rs 37000/- per month,” the notification added.

This decision, approved by Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, aims to improve the financial well-being of employees working in government institutions.

Furthermore, it stated that autonomous bodies may adopt these rates with the approval of their relevant Boards and the fiscal position of institutions.
