MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has approved the ad-hoc appointment of 341 lecturers in 13 subjects.

The Higher Education Department has issued notifications in this regard. These lecturers will be appointed in colleges where lecturer positions have been vacant for a long time.

According to the notification, for the ad-hoc appointment of these lecturers, after formal advertisement with the consent of the Public Service Commission, selection was made on open merit after a written test and interview from approximately 15,000 candidates.

The Prime Minister completed the stalled recruitment, which had been awaiting attention for several years, to immediately address the shortage of teachers in educational institutions.

All newly appointed ad-hoc lecturers have been instructed by the Higher Education Department to submit their attendance reports to the Director General of Higher Education Colleges.

Lecturers of Mirpur Division have been instructed to submit their attendance reports to the Directorate of Colleges Mirpur, while those from Poonch Division should submit their attendance reports to the office of the Principal, Government Boys Post Graduate College Rawalakot.

All newly appointed lecturers related to Muzaffarabad Division should submit their attendance reports to the Directorate General of Higher Education Colleges / Directorate of Education Colleges, Muzaffarabad Division.

Station allotment for lecturers soon

The notification states that the phase of adjustment/station allotment for lecturers will also be completed soon.

The notification clarifies that permanent appointments to these positions will be made in light of the recommendations of the Public Service Commission.

These appointments are purely temporary and will be effective for a period of six months or until recommendations are received from the Public Service Commission (whichever comes first).

These appointments can be terminated prematurely without prior notice. These appointments will not create any right for permanent appointment, nor will this period be counted towards seniority, according to the authorities.

Appointments to these positions will be effective from the date of attendance in the Directorate of Education Colleges. Adjustments for deployment will be made separately.

Payment of salary for these appointments each month will be subject to the attendance verification by the principal of the concerned institution.
