AJK revenue dept extends deadline for filing income tax returns

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) of Azad Kashmir on Monday extended the date of filing income tax returns for the tax year 2024-25.

According to the official statement, the CBR has extended the last date of filing income tax returns for the third time till November 10, 2025, in view of “unavoidable circumstances”.

According to the spokesperson, the due date will not be extended further.

“All the esteemed taxpayers are hereby informed to submit their returns on the Inland Revenue Online Portal (iris) by the due date without any delay, and fulfill this legal duty and play their full role in the development of the state,” the statement read.

Earlier, the tax-collecting body extended the date of tax filing till October 31 on October 15.

“President of Azad Kashmir has been pleased to accord approval to extend the date of filing of Income Tax Returns for the Tax year 2024-25 till 31st October, 2025,” the notification earlier issued stated.

The revenue department issued the directives in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 4 (2) of the Azad Jammu & Kashmir Central Board of Revenue Act, 2020, read with Section 214A of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001.
