MUZAFFARABAD/ ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Education Minister Diwan Ali Khan Chughtai has formally joined the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Azad Kashmir.
For the purpose, a grand ceremony was organized in his honour at the residence of Chaudhry Riaz, where senior party leaders Ms. Faryal Talpur, Sardar Zia-ul-Qamar and others were also present.
Earlier, there were rumours that Diwan Ali Khan Chughtai may join the Pakistan Peoples’ Party, but Saturday’s ceremony officially confirmed his joining the PPP.
AJK politics to gain more pace
Peoples Party leaders have warmly welcomed Diwan Ali Khan Chughtai’s joining the party, saying that his experience and public service will further strengthen the party’s mission.
Diwan Ali Khan Chughtai also spoke on the occasion and said that he will work day and night for the welfare of the people of the independent state of Jammu and Kashmir and will work diligently for the development of education and other important sectors from the party’s platform.
After this joining, it is expected that the political activities by the Pakistan Peoples’ Party in Azad Kashmir will gain more pace.
