AJK coalition government completes its two years in power

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The coalition government, under the leadership of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, has completed two years.

During this period, the coalition government strived for freedom of Kashmir, uplift of governance, political and social sectors under the leadership of the Prime Minister, which has not been exemplified in the past, according to government officials.

Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq declared the Tehreek-e-Azadi Kashmir as the priority of his government.

He also reiterated his commitment to allocate all resources for freedom of Kashmir and his bold stance from dialogue to resolving the Kashmir issue.

In addition, the Prime Minister put his hand on the mafias with great courage and saved billions of rupees tax evasion by eliminating timber mafia, cigarette mafia, flour mafia and tea mafia.

A social protection fund was also launched at a cost of 10 billion. The elderly, divorced women and transgenders were provided funds on a monthly basis, universities were granted billions of rupees. The government implemented educational reforms in the educational institutions.

According to government officials, Chairman Public Service Commission and members were appointed on merit and favouritism abolished, on the basis of which hundreds of young people got job on merit.

The government on completion of its two years in power, takes the credit of providing journalists with grants.

Relief for AJK people

The people were provided electricity at a cost of Rs 3 per unit and the government itself suffered a loss of Rs 71 billion.

The condition of schools, colleges, universities and hospitals was improved and the public tax money was utilized in a judicious manner.

According to government functionaries, the Prime Minister started the process of self-accountability with his own and his office presenting themselves first.

The government also takes credit of making functional Cardiac Hospital Muzaffarabad and Cardiac Hospital Mirpur.

The doctors were appointed on an ad-hoc basis so that the public could get better health facilities.

The recruitment of teachers was completed in a transparent manner through NTS and no complaint was received from any district in this regard.

The Prime Minister reduced his staff to reduce the expenditure of the Prime Minister House to Rs 31 million.

The government rather, provided buses to various colleges across Azad Kashmir.
