Admin moves to improve traffic system in Rawalakot

RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): The district administration has sprung into action after media reports regarding encroachments, and an un-organized traffic system in the city.

The committee formed under the directives of Deputy Commissioner Poonch Sardar Umar Farooq, has started its work to improve the city situation.

Under the leadership of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rawalakot, Sardar Abdul Qadir, committee members conducted a detailed tour of various areas of the city and reviewed the traffic plan.

Rawalakot city divided into three zones

During the visit, it was decided that Rawalakot city would be divided into three different zones, while six locations have been finalized as parking points, for which necessary administrative measures will also be taken.

Some important areas of the city will be declared parking-free zones to ensure smooth traffic flow.

Similarly, separate parking points will be allocated for traders and private employees who visit the city daily.

Measures will also be taken for a permanent solution to the parking issue around educational institutions and hospitals.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Sardar Abdul Qadir said that improving the city’s traffic system is among the administration’s priorities.

The public has been appealed to fully implement the traffic plan and cooperate with the administration in the cleanliness and improvement of the city so that Rawalakot can be made an organized and beautiful city.
