KARACHI (Kashmir English): The Sindh government has declared a public holiday on December 26 for the Christian community on the occasion of Christmas 2025.
Earlier, a public holiday notification was already issued on December 25 for Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas.
According to the notification issued by the Department of Services, General Administration and Coordination, this holiday will apply to all government, semi-government, and autonomous institutions, corporations, and local councils that are under the administration of the Sindh government.
However, the staff associated with essential services will not be included in it.
Earlier, the Government of Balochistan announced the Balochistan Christmas 2025 advance salaries for all Christian government employees and pensioners in the province.
According to a notification issued by the Finance Department, salaries and pensions will now be paid on December 22 for December 2025 instead of January 1, 2026.
The decision has been taken to help the Christian community prepare for Christmas celebrations with ease.
The finance department said the move will help give financial relief to employees and pensioners who are Christians in order to celebrate their religious festival without feeling any financial pressure.
Early disbursement will apply across the province to all eligible employees and retirees.
