LEEPA VALLEY (Kashmir English): Following a report by Kashmir Digital, the Leepa Guards took action and halted the transfer of the Rescue 1122 centre from Leepa to Muzaffarabad.
The Rescue 1122 vehicles, which had been summoned to Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), were sent back from the Moji checkpoint and returned to the Assistant Commissioner’s office in Leepa.
The Leepa Guards took action in response to public demand, for which the local community has expressed gratitude. It is worth mentioning that a house in the Intilyan area of Leepa Valley was completely destroyed due to a fire.
When Rescue 1122 vehicles arrived at the scene on time, some enraged individuals pelted stones at them and damaged the vehicle. The attack caused financial losses worth millions, prompting Rescue 1122 to decide to close its centre in Leepa Valley and transfer it to Muzaffarabad, a move that had sparked public concern in the area.
Previously, Rescue 1122 in Leepa Valley discontinued its service following an incident where an angry mob attacked and damaged a rescue vehicle. The centre was to get relocated to Muzaffarabad, leaving residents concerned about emergency response availability in the region.
According to the details, a house in an area of Leepa Valley was reduced to ashes due to a fire. Upon the delayed arrival of Rescue 1122 vehicles, agitated individuals at the scene threw stones at the rescue vehicle and caused significant damage to it. Millions of rupees worth of damage was suffered by the vehicle.
Rescue 1122 decided to terminate its operations at Leepa Valley before relocating the center to Muzaffarabad because of the critical conditions in the area. The decision caused worry among local residents because these choices produced doubts about emergency help delays in upcoming scenarios.
But now, after Kashmir Digital reported the incident and the decision made regarding it, the decision has been halted.
