RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): Rawalakot police have arrested the main accused from Rawalpindi in the Tain Dhalkot ASI Abdul Rauf murder case.

SSP Poonch Muhammad Riaz Mughal told reporters that after the recent arrest, all four accused linked with the murder of cop Abdul Rauf have been taken into custody at the Rawalakot police station.

The main accused, Qamar Zaman, was arrested from the Lehtrar area of Rawalpindi.

SSP Poonch said that Qamar Zaman went into hiding outside Azad Kashmir after committing the crime, however, he was traced with modern technology and arrested from Rawalpindi on the night of Tuesday.

The accused include Shahbaz Azmat, Kamran, Imran, and Qamar Zaman. They martyred ASI Abdul Rauf at the Tain Dhalkot bridge on March 8, 2025.

The case was registered by the police, and an investigation has been underway since the incident, SSP told media.

In addition to that, SSP Poonch Riaz Mughal said that the accused Kamran alias Jeeko was arrested on March 9 from the nearby forest with a pistol.

Later, accused Shahbaz Khan was apprehended on March 1, while the accused Imran, resident of Dhalkot, was arrested from Sialkot Airport on March 28, using technology,y and a 30-bore pistol was also recovered from him.
