AJK High Court organises ceremony in honor of retiring Justice Mian Arif

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): An Iftar/dinner ceremony was organized by the High Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in honor of Justice Mian Arif Hussain, Judge of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) High Court, on his retirement.

The ceremony was attended by the Chief Justice of AJK High Court, Justice Sadaqat Hussain Raja, and Judges of the High Court including Justice Mian Arif Hussain, Justice Shahid Bihar, Justice Sardar Muhammad Ijaz Khan, and Justice Khalid Rashid Chaudhry.

The Registrar of the High Court, Secretary Law, Secretary Election Commission, District and Sessions Judges, District Qazis, officials of the Bar Council, Supreme Court Bar, High Court Bar, and District Bar Associations also participated in the ceremony.

Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Justice of the High Court felicitated the retiring Justice Mian Arif Hussain on the successful completion of service

“Justice Mian Arif Hussain’s career is full of continuous effort and is a good example for all,” he said.

“His career is proof that a person who works hard will get results. He enhanced the prestige of the judiciary during his service and played a key role in providing justice to the common man.”

Addressing the ceremony, the chief guest Justice Mian Arif Hussain thanked Allah Almighty for his success. “I worked in a factory and studied during this time, continued to move forward with dedication and passion, and got the honor of becoming a judge of the High Court.”

Justice Hussain expressed gratefulness to the Cheif Justice of AJK Supreme Court for organizing the ceremony.

“My affiliation with Muzaffarabad division was more than that of other districts during my service,” the retiring judge said.

Judge High Court Justice Shahid Bihar, while addressing the ceremony, paid tribute to the services of Justice Mian Arif Hussain and expressed his best wishes for the future.

Justice Mian Arif Hussain

Justice Arif Hussain, hailing from Punjab’s Narowal District, started his career as an advocate in Tehsil Bar Ferozwala in Shikhupura district. Later, he was enrolled as an Advocate at Lahore High Court in 1995.

Justice Hussain joined the services of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Law Department as a Section Officer in 1996 and later he was transferred as a Civil Judge in June 2001.

Following his elevation to Senior Civil Judge in September 2006, he served in various positions including Additional District & Session Judge, Ehtesab Judge, and Judge of the Banking Court.

Later, he joined the Azad Kashmir High Court as Registrar on March 29, 2019, and was elevated to a Judge High Court on August 8, 2022.
