PM Haq chairs Board of Governors meeting of Cadet College Palandri, Muzaffarabad

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Chaudhry Anwarul Haq chaired the 31st Board of Governors meeting of Cadet College Palandri and Cadet College Muzaffarabad, govt’s press information department (PID) said on Monday.

During the meeting, Secretary Higher Education Chaudhry Muhammad Tayyab gave a detailed briefing to Prime Minister Anwarul Haq about the Cadet Colleges.

The Board of Governors meeting of both military-run colleges approved the appointment of Principal Cadet College Palandri and an additional amount of Rs. 34 million for the same college.

In addition to that, the Board of Governors approved the increase in the salaries of daily wage employees of Cadet College Muzaffarabad. Steps were also directed to be taken to resolve all the problems of cadet colleges, the press release read.

On the occasion, the premier also directed to “maintain the quality of cadet colleges” and said that the “government will utilise all available resources to further improve the quality of cadet colleges, take steps to promote technology, and equip the young generation with the jewel of education so that they can compete with the world.

He said that the government is active for public welfare and is taking revolutionary steps to continue the mission of service, and will also take vigorous steps to resolve all the problems of cadet colleges.

The meeting was attended by Speaker Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Chief Secretary Azad Kashmir Flight Lieutenant (Rtd) Khushal Khan, Secretary Finance Islam Zeb, Secretary Higher Education Chaudhry Muhammad Tayyab, Principal Cadet College Muzaffarabad and other concerned officials.
