ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Fake rumours are circulating on social media that the federal government has announced Eid-ul-Fitr holidays for government offices and educational institutions from late March to early April 2025, with varying durations based on work schedules, with similar notification for Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Eid holidays expected soon.
The rumours say the federal government has issued the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday notification, according to which government offices and educational institutions will remain closed on specific days and that a separate notification for holidays in Azad Kashmir is expected to be issued soon.
According to the notification circulating on social media, offices and institutions that operate five days a week will observe a five-day holiday from March 31 to April 4, 2025 (Monday to Friday). Offices that operate six days a week will have an eight-day holiday from March 29 to April 5, 2025 (Saturday to the following Saturday), while educational institutions will remain closed for nine days, from March 29 to April 6, 2025.

The rumoured press release further stated that the notification was issued with the approval of the Prime Minister and has been forwarded to all relevant departments, including the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the President’s Secretariat, the Chief Election Commissioner, the Auditor General of Pakistan, and various government institutions such as the Pakistan Army General Headquarters (GHQ), the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), and federal ministries.
