Police denies rumors regarding looting, kidnapping in Bhimber

BHIMBER (Kashmir English): District Police Bhimber has denied rumors regarding an unknown group of looters who have entered Bhimber and started kidnapping and looting people by making them unconscious.

Various pictures and voice messages have been circulating in social media groups alleging that an unknown group of looters from Punjab’s Gujrat district has entered Bhimber district in a white civic car and is looting people by making them unconscious or kidnapping them.

In a statement shared on social media, Bhimber Police spokesperson clarified these rumors, stating that the police have not received any report from any affected person so far.

“In the light of the mentioned voice messages and pictures, Bhimber district police has alerted all the entry/exit points of this district and the process of checking and verification regarding any such vehicle/persons is going on, however, the police has not received any report from any affected person so far,” the statement read.

Police spokesperson urged citizens to immediately approach the local police station, if any such incident has happened to any person within the limits of Bhimber district. The police have appealed to the public to refrain from spreading unverified information without investigation to avoid unnecessary panic among the people.

“Bhimber police is always alert to protect the lives and property of the public and prevent crimes,” it added.
