RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): The University of Poonch Rawalakot has started four-year degree programs in AI and Cyber Security.
Dean Medical and Health Sciences and Director QEC Dr. Shahid Iqbal Awan has said that four-year degree programs in Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security have been started for the first time in view of the dire need for AI and Cyber Security.
He said there is a shortage of manpower all over the world. Its importance is increasing day by day in the modern era, he added.
He expressed these views while talking to journalists. He said that there is no shortage of talent in this region and added there is a need to provide people with opportunities.
Facilities at the University
The University has provided these facilities to the students of Poonch Division at their doorsteps.
On this occasion, In-charge of the Department of Software Engineering and Data Sciences Dr. Lubna Zafar said that these two programs have been started for the first time in the field of Applied Sciences.
“Technology is developing rapidly. Cybercrime and Artificial Intelligence are the most important areas of this revolution.”
The demand for experts in these fields is increasing all over the world. “Our goal is to equip students with modern skills so that they could play an effective role in the global digital economy.
Thirty-five students have qualified for the admission in the first phase. “We have labs and staff. We are committed to making quality education accessible to everyone.”
The university is also working to provide scholarships and financial assistance to deserving students according to merit.
AI plays a key role in automated systems and intelligent decision-making. Cybersecurity has become indispensable for the protection of digital assets.
Director Student Affairs Raja Basharat Mahmood said that the vision of the Vice Chancellor of University Zikria Zakir is to take the university to the global rankings and added, “We have achieved a lot in this regard. Cybersecurity and AI are a link in this chain.”
