LAHORE (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered Eid-ul-Azha prayers in Lahore on May 27, 2026, with a big crowd of worshippers there. He showed up early in the morning, joined the Eid congregation, and prayed for the peace, stability, and prosperity of Pakistan.
After the prayers, he traded Eid greetings with citizens, and he also met people present at the venue, which was pretty much the whole atmosphere.
In his message, the prime minister urged the nation to remember the poor and deserving folks during Eid celebrations, and he also called for unity among citizens, saying that joint efforts are needed in order to tackle national challenges.
Shehbaz Sharif said Eid al-Adha carries a powerful reminder about sacrifice, and it trains Muslims to place public welfare ahead of personal interests. He added that progress and stability can only be achieved when people move forward together with honesty and dedication.
Before this, Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Maryam Nawaz extended Eid-ul-Azha greetings to the people of Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah, noting that the festival highlights sacrifice, compassion, love, and humanity.
In her Eid message, she said Muslims who follow the Sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) by offering sacrifice deserve full respect and appreciation. She also mentioned that Eid-ul-Azha encourages people to set aside personal desires for the sake of Allah, and to bring in poor and needy people as part of the celebrations.
