MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir High Court has directed the government to complete the permanent appointment of the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (Bank of AJK) within ten days.

During the hearing, the High Court expressed displeasure over the delay and slowness in filling the top administrative position of the bank on a permanent basis.

The court made it clear that such an important position could not be kept on a temporary arrangement for a prolonged period and emphasized that the permanent appointment of the President/CEO was inevitable.

The High Court directed the AJK government to complete all legal formalities and prevailing procedures in light of previous court orders and ensure immediate implementation of the directives.

According to the court order, the entire process of permanent appointment must be completed within the next ten days.

According to legal and economic experts, the High Court’s decision will further stabilize the administrative and financial affairs of the Bank of AJK.

The appointment of a permanent head of the bank will help in better implementation of the institution’s policies and future plans, which will directly benefit the state’s financial system.
