Wildlife Department rescues sick leopard from Naseerabad, AJK

MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Wildlife Department rescued a sick leopard from the Pahalian area of Naseerabad Tehsil in Azad Kashmir.

Local residents informed the department after seeing a female leopard on the bank of a mountain stream.

Wildlife team arrived at the scene and rescued the leopard.  According to Director Wildlife, Abdul Shakoor Kataria, the female leopard is approximately two years old.

Leopard shifted to Islamabad

The female leopard is being shifted to Islamabad Wildlife Care for treatment, said Director Wildlife.

Minister for Forests and Wildlife, Sardar Javed Ayub, said despite efforts, they couldn’t establish a centre for wildlife treatment in AJK. “We lack resources,” he said adding survival of wildlife is also essential for human life.
