SIALKOT (Kashmir English): Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif has expressed hope that Pakistan will play a constructive role in promoting peace and stability in the region, while also warning against any potential escalation by India.
Speaking during a media interaction in Sialkot, Asif emphasized the importance of unity among the Muslim Ummah, stating that the need for cohesion and harmony has never been greater.
He urged Muslims to follow the teachings and example of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and prayed for protection from conflicts and divisions.
Referring to regional tensions, the defence minister cautioned against any externally driven disputes and stressed the importance of peace and reconciliation efforts.
Responding to a question regarding a statement by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Khawaja Asif alleged that India could attempt another “false flag operation.” He claimed that during the previous conflict, India faced internal criticism despite its larger size and capabilities.
” In the last conflict, India faced criticism from its own people, with many saying that despite being five times larger than Pakistan, it did not perform as expected,” he said. “India always thought that forces were the best, but they were knocked by Pakistan very badly, and people won’t forget it.”
He further warned that any aggressive move or misadventure by India could lead to serious consequences, reiterating Pakistan’s readiness to respond if required.
