ABU DHABI (Kashmir English): Qatar Airways has announced the continuation of the temporary suspension of its flights as the closure of Qatari airspace remains in place, according to a report by Qatar News Agency (QNA).
The airline said operations will stay suspended until authorities confirm that the country’s airspace has safely reopened. Qatar Airways added that it is closely monitoring developments and will resume services once approval is granted by the relevant authorities.
Passengers need to check the airline’s official channels for current updates about flight schedules and travel advisories.
Earlier, the airline stated that services would resume once the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority confirms the safe reopening of airspace.
Flight operations across the Gulf region continue to face disruptions following the temporary closure of Qatari airspace and wider regional security concerns.
A further operational update is expected on March 4 by 09:00 Doha time (06:00 UTC). Passengers have been advised to monitor flight updates through the airline’s official website and mobile application.
Meanwhile, the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced the gradual resumption of flight operations across UAE airports to assist passengers affected by recent regional disruptions. Authorities have urged travellers not to proceed to airports unless directly contacted by their respective airlines with confirmed flight schedules.
At Zayed International Airport (AUH), operations have partially resumed. However, Etihad Airways confirmed that all scheduled commercial flights to and from Abu Dhabi remain suspended until 2:00 pm UAE time on Wednesday, March 4.
The airline has advised passengers to check their flight status online, ensure their contact details are updated, and utilize rebooking or refund options where necessary.
Tickets issued on or before February 28, 2026, for travel up to March 7 may be rebooked free of charge for travel until March 18, while refunds can be processed online or through travel agents.
Additionally, the Sharjah Airport Authority announced the limited resumption of operations at Sharjah International Airport from tonight under a defined schedule. Passengers have been urged to confirm departure timings with their airlines as authorities prioritise safety and smooth service restoration.
