ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Security sources have said that Pakistan’s policy regarding Iran is ‘balanced and responsible’ and ‘we are doing absolutely well’ amidst the ongoing regional tension involving Iran, the US, Israel, and other Middle Eastern nations.
The security sources also said that Iran has the right to respond, but it shouldn’t attack friendly countries.
Sources further added that no one can mess with a nuclear state [Pakistan] and whoever takes it will understand, sources said.
The security sources claimed that Pakistan cannot be the next target as “Pakistan is Pakistan, not Iran or Afghanistan”, adding that attacking a nuclear state is not an easy thing to do.
Security sources have made it clear that Pakistan does not want to be a part of any unnecessary tension in the region. “Pakistan is a responsible state that respects international norms and diplomatic etiquette,” it added.
In this context, sources said that Iran has the right to defend itself; however, it is necessary to avoid such measures that affect the security of friendly countries.
“Pakistan’s defense capability is strong and effective, and there is full readiness to deal with any possible threat. Iran is alone in foreign policy, while the whole world is with Pakistan.”
“We need to work more on internal stability. Iran thanked us by mentioning our name at the UN. Pakistan’s leadership is closely monitoring the situation in the region, and national security is the top priority,” sources said.
Security sources concluded that Pakistan has always been a supporter of dialogue, restraint, and diplomatic solutions, and will continue to adhere to this policy in the future so that peace and stability can be promoted in the region.
