KHYBER (Kashmir English): Pakistan Army responded effectively and forcefully to unprovoked firing from Afghan Taliban forces on multiple locations along the Pak-Afghan border near Landi Kotal and Tirah, sources said on Tuesday.

According to security sources, the attacks were repelled in the areas of Waragha Sar, Maro Sar, and Shah Kot Sar. The locals have confirmed hearing the sounds of shelling and heavy weapons.

In retaliation for Afghan aggression, security forces targeted and destroyed several Afghan Taliban posts in the border area of Tirah Valley.

Security sources said that forces have carried out effective operations against Taliban hideouts, killing several Taliban while some Afghan Taliban fled after abandoning their posts.

Sources said that Pakistani forces gave a befitting reply to the Afghan Taliban over the border violation.
