Security put on high alert in Neelum District

ATHMUQAM (Kashmir English): Security has been put on high alert in district Neelum alongside other parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) in view of the security situation in the country.

According to the directives of the Superintendent of Police, Neelum District, comprehensive and effective security planning has been implemented in view of the recent terrorist incidents in the country.

Combing operations and general hold-ups have been initiated throughout the district in collaboration with the police and other law enforcement agencies, while mock exercises will also be conducted to deal with any emergency situation.

Security further tightened

Security has been further tightened at all important places and installations. In view of any potential threat, special checking and scrutiny arrangements have been made at the entry points of Neelum District and at all bridges.

All transport and pedestrians entering and leaving the district are being meticulously checked with the help of modern security equipment.

Orders have been issued for checking at hotels, inns, rest houses, guest houses, main highways, markets, and bus terminals using modern methods through Hotel Eye and EPP applications.

Foot and mobile patrols have been made highly effective and active 24 hours a day.

All police forces have been kept vigilant and alert at all times, while senior officers are personally supervising the security arrangements.

In this context, a combing operation was conducted on Saturday in Sharda. During the combing operation, hotels, guest houses, and markets were checked. In addition, the Sharda bus stand was checked, and vehicles were also inspected.

The public is appealed to fully cooperate with the police regarding security arrangements so that peace and security of homeland could be ensured.
