LAHORE: After the increase in the price of diesel, transporters in different areas have increased the fare prices of passenger buses on their own, due to which the citizens are facing severe difficulties.
The fares on various routes have been increased from Rs 50 to Rs 150, which has made the journey even more expensive.
According to the details, the fare for passengers going from Lahore to Rawalpindi has been increased from Rs 1600 to Rs 1750. Similarly, after an increase of Rs 150, the fare from Lahore to Rahim Yar Khan is being charged at Rs 1900. The fares have also been increased on the Lahore-Gujranwala route, which has further increased the difficulties of the passengers traveling daily.
Citizens have expressed serious concern after the increase in the fares of passenger buses. Passengers say that the increase in fares has not only made travel expensive but also has an impact on the prices of daily necessities, which increases the difficulties of the common man.
Citizens have demanded that the price of diesel be reduced to provide relief to the people so that the rising expenses can be reduced to some extent. According to passengers, inflation has already made life difficult, and the increase in transport fares is doubling the difficulties.
It should be noted that the government has maintained the price of petrol at Rs 253.17 per liter, while the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs 11.30 per liter. After the price increase, the new price of high-speed diesel has been set at Rs 268.38 per liter.
