KARACHI (Kashmir English): The surge in the sugar and flour prices across the country has made it difficult for the common man to meet their needs.
In just one week, the price of flour has increased by Rs 15 to 20, while sugar has become more expensive by Rs 5 to 10 per kg across the country.
According to reports received from different cities, a significant increase in the prices of flour and sugar has been recorded in one week.
In Islamabad, the price of a 20 kg bag of flour has increased to Rs 2,750, while sugar is available for Rs 152 per kg.
In Lahore, milled flour has become more expensive by Rs 10 per kg in a week to Rs 170 per kg.
The price of wheat per maund in the city has increased from Rs 4,400 to Rs 4,900, while the price of a 50 kg bag of sugar has increased by Rs 200. In Lahore, sugar is being sold for Rs 160 per kg.
In Karachi, flour is available between Rs 140 and Rs 150 per kg, while the price of sugar has reached Rs 136 per kg.
In Peshawar, the price of a 20 kg bag of flour has been increased by Rs 500, after which the bag is being sold for Rs 2,750.
The official rate of sugar in Peshawar is Rs 160 per kg; however, sugar is being sold in the market for Rs 175 per kg.
In Quetta, flour has also become expensive by Rs 15 per kg and sugar by Rs 5 per kg in a week.
