MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The research faculty of the Center for International Strategic Studies, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (CISS AJK), conducted academic sessions across the districts of Poonch and Sudhnuti as part of its Strategic Outreach Program 2025, engaging students in structured discussions on contemporary strategic, security, and policy-relevant issues.
The outreach activities were held at Cadet College Pallandri (Sudhnuti), Mohammadan Science College Hajeera (Poonch), and the University of Poonch Rawalakot, where students from Matric, FSC, BS, and International Relations programs participated actively.
The sessions were delivered by Abdul Basit (Associate Research Officer), Hira Bashir (Associate Research Officer), Tayyaba Khurshid (Research Officer), and Abdul Rehman (Research Officer), who collectively covered topics including the introduction and mandate of CISS AJK, peaceful uses of nuclear technology, fundamentals of arms control and disarmament, strategic stability and escalation dynamics in South Asia, and environmental security challenges in AJK.
Students and faculty across the institutions responded enthusiastically, demonstrating keen interest and engagement during interactive discussions and Q&A sessions.
Particular appreciation was expressed for the academic discourse on Pakistan’s peaceful applications of nuclear technology and the environmental and climate-related challenges facing AJK, reflecting a strong appetite among youth for informed debate on strategic and developmental issues.
