RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): A grand ceremony is being held today in honour of Field Marshal Asim Munir, Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military), Hilal-e-Jurat, on his appointment as the first Chief of Defence Forces of Pakistan.
Contingents from the Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy, and Pakistan Air Force presented a ceremonial guard of honour to the distinguished military leader.
Senior military officers, including the Chief of the Naval Staff and the Chief of the Air Staff, attended the ceremony to mark the historic occasion. The tri-services guard extended a general salute to the chief guest as part of the formal proceedings.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir also inspected the guard of honour, acknowledging the professionalism and discipline of the troops representing all three branches of the armed forces.
The ceremony underscored the significance of his new role as Chief of Defence Forces and highlighted the unity and coordination among Pakistan’s military services.
