LAHORE (Kashmir English): E-boarding card machines have been installed at several international airports in the country, allowing passengers to obtain their boarding cards automatically upon entering the terminal.

According to sources, the facility has been provided at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, Islamabad airport and Karachi airport.

Immigration officials from the FIA will process passenger clearance through this new e-application, which will be linked with the Integrated Border Management System (IBMS).

Under the facility, passengers traveling abroad will enter their complete profile data, including visa details, employment information, and purpose of travel before departure.

According to officials, all airlines operating from Pakistan will be integrated into the app. After uploading the information, travellers can directly enter the departure lounge, receive their boarding card instantly and have their immigration cleared within minutes.

Previously, passengers have had to wait in long queues for boarding cards and at immigration counters.

FIA immigration officials said the new app is equipped with complete security features.

Passengers will be required to upload all necessary documents and answer a few questions before approval, they added.
