ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): All administrative and technical preparations have been completed for the construction of a seven-star hotel in the federal capital, Islamabad.

This magnificent project is being designed specifically for the accommodation and hosting of foreign guests during the next Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in September announced that Pakistan will host the next SCO summit, adding that authorities need to start preparing.

The announcement came less than a fortnight after the SCO Summit in Tianjin, China, where Pakistan raised the issue of the Indus Waters Treaty and a joint declaration was issued condemning the attacks on the Jaffar Express, Khuzdar and Pahalgam. The PM, however, did not give a date for the summit.

According to sources, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has formally invited international companies to expedite the project. The global tender issued by CDA clarifies that the hotel will be constructed in collaboration with international companies under a public-private partnership or joint venture.

Red Zone area of Islamabad

The sensitive and important Red Zone area of Islamabad has been selected for this modern hotel, where high-quality accommodation and conference facilities will be provided, similar to other capitals of the world.

Under the project, the hotel will include world-class large conference halls, modern seminar and meeting rooms, spacious banquet halls, luxury guest rooms, and an advanced security system.

In addition, extensive multi-story parking will also be constructed to provide the best facilities for diplomatic delegations, government guests, and other international participants.

According to CDA officials, this project will not only help improve Pakistan’s international image but also promote modern construction in Islamabad.

Completing the hotel before the SCO Summit is a priority to provide world-class accommodation for guests.

Officials said that the completion of the seven-star hotel will not only enhance the beauty of Islamabad but also significantly and positively boost Pakistan’s diplomatic activities.
