ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): In-charge of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Azad Jammu and Kashmir affairs, Faryal Talpur, has convened an important meeting of the party’s Azad Kashmir parliamentary party on October 10.
According to the sources, the meeting will be held at Bilawal House in Karachi, and all party members of the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly have been instructed to ensure their presence.
According to party sources, the meeting is expected to finalize the strategy for the formation of a new government in Azad Kashmir in light of the prevailing political situation.
The PPP leadership has reportedly taken a principled decision to move forward with efforts aimed at forming a new government in the state.
Sources further revealed that consultations will also be held on the names of potential candidates for the office of the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir.
The meeting will be chaired by Faryal Talpur, while the final decision and formal announcement are expected to be made after consultation with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Earlier today, the PPP Azad Kashmir Parliamentary Party and Core Committee meeting was held in Islamabad, where they welcomed the success of negotiations between the federal government committee and the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC).
The party leaders called it a positive development that has thwarted the hostile designs of the eternal enemy, India.
According to the official statement, the party leaders expressed deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of law enforcement personnel and civilians during recent unrest in AJK and prayed for the elevation of their ranks.
The participants also offered prayers for those who lost their lives in an earthquake on October 8, 2005, which claimed over 87,000 lives.
The meeting also unanimously passed a resolution strongly condemning the ongoing grave human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and the killing of Kashmiri youth under the guise of so-called operations.
