ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Meta introduced the launch of Instagram Map in Pakistan, providing users with a new, interactive means of discovering content and keeping up with friends, while keeping privacy controls robust. The feature is accessible straight at the top of users’ DM inboxes.
The new feature enables Pakistanis to share where they are and discover stories, reels, posts, and notes tagged with locations, helping them more easily discover what friends and favorite creators are sharing from concerts, cafes, or local meetups. Users can also choose to share their last seen location with chosen friends, close friends, or nobody at all.
Enhanced Privacy Controls
Privacy is still at the heart of the experience. Location sharing is always off by default, and users are in complete control over who can view their location. The persistent indicator at the top of the map now clearly indicates whether location sharing is enabled, and reminders pop up when adding location tags.
Parents monitoring teens on Instagram also have complete control, with the ability to view and manage their child’s sharing settings.
Meta has enhanced Instagram Map with changes such as excluding profile pictures from map material, making indicators clearer when location is turned off, and previewing tagged content’s appearance.
