ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has given citizens a time until October 1 to obtain driving licences and avoid strict legal action.

After October 1, strict legal action will be taken against drivers driving without a licence, the ITP warned.

“A case will be registered, arrest will be made, and the vehicle will also be impounded for driving a car or motorcycle without a driving licence,” said Chief Traffic Officer Hamza Humayun.

According to details, in light of the special orders of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Islamabad Traffic Police has given citizens a deadline until October 1 to obtain a driving license.

Drivers without licence to face action

Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad Captain (R) Hamza Humayun said that after October 1, strict action will be taken against drivers driving without a licence.

This action will be indiscriminate, regardless of which social class the citizen belongs to. He further said that Islamabad Traffic Police will provide all possible facilities to citizens until October 1.

Citizens can also obtain licences from the Faizabad Traffic Office, F-6 Facilitation Center, and Traffic Facilitation Vans. Citizens should always keep the original copy of their licence with them, while a digital copy will not be acceptable under any circumstances.

CTO Islamabad further said that all drivers should prove themselves to be civilized citizens, obtain their driving licences, and avoid legal action.

Driving without a driving licence is a danger to one’s own life and the lives of others. Islamabad Traffic Police will not allow any citizen’s life to be endangered, the ITP warned.
