Males make up 53.62% of over 139m Pakistan’s registered voters: ECP

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has said that the total number of registered voters in the country has reached 139.49 million.

According to the electoral body, as of September 11, the number of male voters in Pakistan stood at 72.354 million, while the number of female voters has reached 62.595 million.

The figures show that the male voters account for 53.62 percent of the total, while female voters make up 46.38 percent of the total registered voters.

Punjab holds highest number of voters

Punjab holds the highest number of registered voters with over 76.8 million, followed by Sindh 28.278 million, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa 23 million and Balochistan has more than 5.6 million eligible voters. In the federal capital, Islamabad, the number of registered voters is 1.21 million. The ECP released the figures after reviewing the electoral rolls.
