MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi, former Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) AJK, has been released from Central Jail here on Monday night.
According to details, as per the handover receipt issued from Mirpur Central Jail, former Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi was released on personal assurance and handed over to one Kamal Mustafa son of Ghulam Mustafa of Darra Sher Khan.
PTI’s planned August 5 protest
The handover receipt suggested that Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi along with one Nisar Ahmed son of Abdul Majeed of Kotli, who were detained under MPO 1985, were handed over to Kamal Mustafa on personal assurance on August 4. The development comes ahead of PTI’s planned August 5 countrywide protest.
According to police sources, the PTI leader was taken into custody while traveling from Samani to Bhimber in Azad Kashmir on Sunday.
PTI Azad Kashmir President Abdul Qayyum Niazi has earlier instructed party workers to stage a strong protest on August 5.
Meanwhile, PTI is all set to launch a countrywide movement for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan from today (Tuesday).
