ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq has assured the NGOs of cooperation in providing IT training to students.
A delegation from the Mohammad Yousuf Development Foundation called on Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, Prime Minister of the Azad Government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
The delegation included Pakistan’s renowned cricketer Mohammad Yousuf, Brigadier (R) Azmat Khan, Colonel (R) Saeed Ahmed, Colonel (R) Mohammad Asif, Haris Zia, and Faizullah Khan.
The Prime Minister, while talking to the delegation, said that the government was striving to improve schools.
“Our primary teachers also have MA, MPhil degrees. The system of ghost school teachers has been abolished. Biometrics have been implemented in schools.”
The PM said that they were also focusing on improving the performance of middle and high schools. “Two and a half billion rupees have been allocated for the development of the education sector and improvement in teachers’ infrastructure.”
The PM said that the literacy rate in Azad Kashmir is the highest in Pakistan.
IT labs
He said that there is a need to improve training programs. Now IT education is being provided in schools in Azad Kashmir, and IT labs have been established.
The PM said that the NGO will work in the training sector in Azad Kashmir, and the government will provide assistance.
“Only through an integrated and strong program can we bring about change in society. Hundreds of schools are yet to be built, and work can also be done in this sector. There is a need to work on professional and technical education.”
He said that there is an option for investment in tourism. Interest-free loans are being provided to youth.
“We are planning to make Azad Kashmir Bank a scheduled bank, which will bring in one billion in remittances. Work can be done in the health sector. Basic infrastructure and training programs can also be worked on.”
The Prime Minister assured Mohammad Yousuf Foundation of full cooperation. Brigadier (R) Azmat Khan and renowned national cricketer Mohammad Yousuf said that this NGO is working in the health, education, and sports sectors in Pakistan, adding they want to work in these sectors in Azad Kashmir.
