NEELUM (Kashmir English): President of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Shah Ghulam Qadir, has announced that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will soon visit Neelum Valley to inaugurate a Daanish School. The announcement was made during a farewell ceremony for two retiring teachers, Khawaja Lal Din and Khawaja Nazir, in Khawaja Seri.

Shah Ghulam Qadir said the project had faced several hurdles but is now in its final stages of approval. He added that the Daanish School in Neelum will be a significant step toward improving education in the region.

Speaking at the event, Shah Ghulam Qadir emphasized the need to upgrade teachers in Azad Kashmir according to the standards of other provinces.

PML-N upgraded teachers during its tenure, but no upgrades have taken place since then,” he added. He saluted teachers who continue to deliver 100% results despite staff shortages and assured that efforts are underway to fill vacant teaching positions in underserved schools.

Shah Ghulam Qadir highlighted his party’s commitment to merit-based recruitment. He said that through NTS and PSC testing systems, children of underprivileged families were given fair job opportunities. “Our five-year government outperformed all others in development and transparency,” he said.

Highlighting development, he noted that the main road of Neelum Valley, which once took 12 hours to reach Muzaffarabad, can now be traveled in just 6 hours, thanks to infrastructural improvements made during PML-N’s tenure.

Qadir said the party is working with a vision of development for Azad Kashmir. “Our mission is to provide maximum facilities to the people,” he remarked.

Referring to the 13th Amendment, Shah Ghulam Qadir said Azad Kashmir now has control of its own CBR (Central Board of Revenue). This year alone, the department collected Rs 70 billion in revenue, compared to the Rs 10–12 billion previously received in installments when the department was under the federal council.

He ended by saying, “PML-N doesn’t just promise – it delivers.”

Meanwhile, after the ceremony, Shah Ghulam Qadir visited Sargan, where prominent PTI leader Sardar Younis officially joined PML-N, quitting PTI. He was warmly welcomed by the party president and the locals with garlands.
