NEW DELHI (Kashmir English): India’s Narendra Modi and his party, the BJP, have once again faced accusations of inciting hatred and discrimination against Muslims.

Renowned Indian historian Ramachandra Guha has said that the BJP’s anti-Muslim ideology is not just verbal but clearly visible in practical actions.

He said that Modi, his ministers, the Home Minister, and the BJP’s social media team are all collectively fueling hatred against Muslims.

Muslims in India are systematically targeted

According to Ramachandra Guha, Muslims in India are systematically targeted; they are attacked by mobs, who often go unpunished.

Their homes are bulldozed without any notice, their names are removed from voter lists, and attempts are being made to declare them foreigners through controversial citizenship laws.

Online, BJP supporters are also spreading hatred against Muslims, and international human rights organizations have expressed serious concern over these actions.

They stated that the fundamental rights of minorities in India, especially Muslims, are at risk. The government, however, rejects these allegations.

Critics say that all of this is part of a systematic policy aimed at changing India’s secular identity. Ramachandra Guha further stated that if the situation does not change, India’s social fabric will weaken, and everyone will suffer the consequences, not just minorities.
