ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): As tensions grow in the region, an important briefing given by DG ISPR and Information Minister will be held today for Pakistan’s top political leadership. This session will focus on National Security, defence strategies and recent diplomatic events, aiming to foster political unity and strengthen the national narrative.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, and DG ISPR, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, will jointly brief leaders from all major political parties on the current security situation. According to sources, the focus of the briefing will be the recent Pakistan-India tensions, their potential implications, and Pakistan’s defensive and diplomatic responses.

The DG ISPR is expected to highlight the Pakistan Armed Forces’ state of readiness and preparations to counter any external threats. Participants will also be briefed on the country’s firm diplomatic stance and the measures being taken to uphold national security. Officials consider this initiative a vital step towards national cohesion, political harmony, and internal stability.

This high-level meeting comes in the wake of escalating hostilities following a recent incident in Pahalgam, located in Indian-occupied Kashmir. On April 22, unidentified individuals attacked local tourists in the area. Without presenting any evidence, the Indian government placed the blame on Pakistan and announced a series of hostile measures. These included the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, expulsion orders for Pakistani diplomats effective by April 30, and the cancellation of Pakistani citizens’ visas.

In a firm response, Pakistan’s National Security Committee announced retaliatory actions. These actions included halting trade with India, closing the Wahga border temporarily, suspending access to Pakistan airspace and ordering the Indian residents to leave within 48 hours of the announcement.

The joint briefing by the DG ISPR and the Information Minister is being described as a serious attempt to bring political forces together at a critical time. It underscores the state’s commitment to addressing national challenges with unity and transparency. The leadership will be updated on both; the defensive preparedness and diplomatic reach carried out by Pakistan on the international stage.

The presence of DG ISPR in this meeting signals at the gravity and importance of the current situation. Unified approach is a hope for better reach and strong, stable image and message portrayal for Pakistan on the International level amid rising threats.
