KARACHI (Kashmir English): Earthquake tremors were felt in various areas of Karachi and Balochistan’s Somiani on Monday night, with the intensity on the Richter scale recorded at 5.2.
According to details, earthquake tremors were felt in Karachi’s I.I. Chundrigar Road, Saddar, Clifton, PECHS, and DHA areas.
According to local sources, earthquake tremors were also felt in Site Area, Tipu Sultan Road, Pehlwan Goth, and Bahria Town, after which citizens came out of their homes.
According to Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD), earthquake tremors were also felt in Balochistan’s Somiani areas. The epicenter of the earthquake was recorded 87 Northwest of Karachi, according to the PMD.
Earthquake depth
According to the seismological centre, the earthquake depth was recorded at 12 kilometers. The epicenter of the earthquake was in Somiani, 87 kilometers from Karachi.
Initially, no loss of life or property has been reported due to the earthquake.
