KHARAN (Kashmir English): Security forces foiled a major terrorist attack in Kharan district of Balochistan, killing 12 terrorists in different operations.
According to security sources, a total of about 12 terrorists were killed during the operation while 3 key terrorists were arrested, including a highly wanted.
According to sources, the forces responded immediately at the beginning of the operation and killed 4 terrorists on the spot.
After the initial clash, some terrorists managed to temporarily escape; however, the security forces continued to pursue them, and later they were also killed in a targeted operation.
Earlier, A coordinated attack involving approximately 50 to 60 militants from the group Fitana Al Hindustan targeted the city of Kharan.
According to the initial details, around 20 to 25 militants attacked the police station in Kharan, resulting in a very intense firefight. Another faction focused on looting banks and softer civilian targets.
After receiving this actionable intelligence, FC troops took prompt action and moved in, sealing off the city.
No civilian has been taken hostage by the militants.
