NEW DELHI (Kashmir English): Freedom fighter and former Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik has been accused in court as the main shooter in the Air Force personnel murder case.

The case relates to the 1990 incident, in which 4 Air Force personnel were killed and 22 were injured.

Two key witnesses in the TADA court in Jammu identified Yasin Malik as the main shooter, while other accused Shaukat Bakshi, Nannaji, and Javed Ahmed were also named as involved in the incident.

A witness said that Nannaji tried to fire at him with an AK rifle, but he escaped. One of the witnesses, while identifying Yasin Malik in the court, said that he did not find it difficult to identify him as the main shooter.

Yasin Malik, who is currently serving a life sentence in Delhi’s Tihar Jail in a terror funding case, appeared before the court through video conferencing.

The court allowed cross-examination of witnesses. CBI Special Prosecutor SK Bhatt was present during the hearing. The next hearing is scheduled for November 29.
