WASHINGTON (Kashmir English): The US has issued a stern criminal penalty warning to Indian citizens for illegally entering the country and violating laws.

The US seems concerned about the crimes by Indian citizens and their illegal entry, and the US Embassy in India has issued a warning to all Indian citizens.

“If you break U.S. law, you will be punished with significant criminal penalties. The Trump Administration is committed to ending illegal immigration to the United States and protecting our nation’s borders and our citizens,” the US Embassy in India stated in a statement released on the social media website X on Tuesday.

The statement further said that the Trump administration is committed to ending illegal immigration in the US and protecting borders and citizens. The Trump administration wants to protect its citizens and borders, it added.

Interestingly, the US State Department or US missions in other countries, including Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria, Myanmar, and China, have not issued any such warning.

Relations between Washington and New Delhi have been strained during the current year, largely due to US President Donald Trump’s imposition of a 50% tariff on Indian products and India’s concern over US ties with Pakistan after tensions between the two rival South Asian countries in May.

After taking office in January, President Trump announced a strict crackdown on illegal immigration, under which large-scale deportations and strict policies were implemented during 2025.
