LONDON (Kashmir English): With a significant move towards empowerment of the young Kashmiris, The Kashmir Youth Scholarship Program has been initiated in the United Kingdom. This is a program launched by the Pakistan High Commission in London and other local community leaders to help the youth of Kashmiri origin have access to higher education, and seek training and leadership opportunities in life.

The Kashmir Youth Scholarship Program focuses on students with the potential to succeed, but have financial or social obstacles in their way of getting a good education. The object of the program is to lead them to academic success and enable them to have a good future in British society.

The scholarship program, according to the Pakistan High Commission, will enable financial assistance in taking admission to universities in the UK and the entire Europe. It has also incorporated the IELTS practice, workshops on CV and personal statements and mentorship programmes which prepare students to international opportunities.

The key features of the Kashmir Youth scholarship program include:

  • The program is led by the education wing of the Pakistan High Commission, specifically designed for students with a Kashmiri background who possess the potential for higher education but face financial or social barriers.
  • The scholarship will offer financial aid, guidance for university admissions in the UK and Europe, IELTS preparation, CV and personal statement workshops, and mentorship sessions.
  • This program is connected to major UK government scholarships like Chevening, Commonwealth, and GREAT Scholarships to ensure global opportunities for students.

One of the unique features of the Kashmir Youth Scholarship Program is its link with well-known UK government initiatives such as Chevening, Commonwealth, and GREAT Scholarships. This connection allows selected students to access broader educational platforms and resources.

“This is more than just a scholarship – it’s a vision to build a future where Kashmiri youth are empowered, educated, and ready to lead,” said a senior official from the High Commission.

Renowned community leader Raja Amjad Khan said, “This program is a ray of hope for the oppressed Kashmiri nation’s youth. Education is the weapon through which nations progress.”

The main goals of the Kashmir Youth Scholarship Program include opening doors to higher education, improving the academic and professional standing of Kashmiri youth in the UK, and helping create a well-informed, dynamic new generation.
