The Frontier Corps (FC) North carried out an ambush on a Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan (TTA) party attempting to cut border fencing in the Khara Sector on March 7, 2026, according to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The operation was planned to prevent future infiltration attempts. According to reports, TTA militants had been trying to breach the fence at Pakistan-Afghanistan Border during daylight using sneak parties to assist infiltration.
To counter this, a team led by WC 144 Wing laid an ambush at a likely fence-cutting site. 3–4 TTA militanst approached the fence near Mukha Post and attempted to cut it. They were effectively engaged by FC North personnel using small arms.
In result, one TTA militanst was killed and others injured but they fled the surrounding area. The body of the killed TTA militant has been recovered.
Additionally, the FC team recovered several materials from the site, including, 4–5 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in 1.5-liter bottles and 1 staircase component.
The operation is seen as a deterrent against future fence-cutting and infiltration attempts by militants.
