Turkish envoy reaffirms support for Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir issue

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Irfan Naziroglu on Wednesday reaffirmed Turkey’s stance to stand with Pakistan on the Kashmir issue.

He expressed these during the meeting with the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, at Parliament House in Islamabad today, where both leaders agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations and highlight the Kashmir issue at the global level.

Turkish envoy Naziroglu, while thanking the Chairman Kashmir Committee and the members of the Kashmir Committee, said that his country considers Pakistan its home and will always continue to support Pakistan’s position at every international and regional forum.

“Ankara considers the Kashmir issue as its personal issue and stands with Pakistan at every step,” he said, adding that his country is keen to further promote cooperation with Pakistan in education, culture, defense, and other sectors.

He said that Turkey is providing modern education to children through Pak-Turk Maarif International Schools in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir.

During the meeting, Chairman Kashmir Committee Qasim Noon said, “Pakistan and Turkey are like one soul in two bodies and there is a strong bond of common religion, culture, history, and brotherhood between the people of both countries.”

The Chairman Kashmir Committee appreciated Turkey’s unwavering support on the Kashmir issue and said that Turkey has always supported Pakistan’s principled stand. He said that the serious human rights violations by India in occupied Kashmir are condemnable and the international community should take notice of it.

Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon clarified that according to the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, the Kashmir issue is a global issue, not just a dispute between Pakistan and India.

Noon urged friendly countries including Pakistan and Turkey to raise the Kashmir issue more effectively in the United Nations and take joint steps to expose Indian propaganda and misinformation. He also strongly condemned the aggression of Israeli forces on Gaza during the recent Ramadan, adding that peace cannot be established in the world without resolving the Palestine issue and the Kashmir issue.

Furthermore, he noted that relations between Turkey and Pakistan are getting stronger with time and both countries have stood by each other in every difficult moment.

Kashmir Committee members Fatullah Khan, Ms. Sharmila Farooqui, Mirza Ikhtiar, Sanjay Parwani were also present in the meeting.

The members of the Kashmir Committee expressed their gratitude for Turkey’s unwavering support on the Kashmir and Palestine issues. They also appreciated the Turkish Ambassador’s commitment that the two countries would further promote cooperation in various fields.
