KOTLI (Kashmir English): A tragic traffic accident took place in Camp Colony Gulpur, Kotli district Azad Kashmir in which one person lost the battle of life and several other passengers received severe injuries.
According to the eyewitnesses, Toyota Hiace No. RIS-4755 was involved in this tragic accident.
Upon receiving the information about the accident, volunteers of Sultania Welfare Society Registered Gulpur immediately reached the spot and started rescue operations.
The injured were rescued and shifted to DHQ Hospital Kotli, however, the injured conductor Munawar Iqbal son of Raja Iqbal, resident of Dangrot, Kotli, succumbed to his injuries.
Further medical assistance is being provided to the other injured passengers. The police team is conducting a thorough investigation into the matter to identify the real cause behind this accident.
Traffic Accident in Haveli Kahuta
Earlier, A devastating traffic accident occurred in Haveli Kahuta district of Azad Kashmir where a passenger coaster train (2789) going from Forward Kahuta to Rawalpindi met with an accident.
The accident took place near Parthan Ziarat, resulting in the death of five people and injuries to several others.
The rescue teams and police forces rushed swiftly to the location of the accident and shifted the injured to the nearby hospital for further medical assistance.
The deceased have been identified as Abdul Rauf son of Khan Muhammad Khan (village Pedar), Malik Sherbaz son of Suba Khan (village Bhedi), Chaudhry Muhammad Rashid son of Muhammad Din (village Mumtazabad) and Khalid Hussain son of Nek Muhammad (village Mandhar).
Such, traffic accidents highlight the importance of following driving rules and safety guidelines when traveling. The Azad Kashmir has issued a travel advisory urging the residents to avoid traveling during harsh weather conditions specifically for long time of periods to avoid any mishap.
