ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The untimely exit of top contestant Ibrar Shahid has landed Pakistan Idol in major controversy. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Idol has closed the case down.

Ibrar Shahid publicly stated that the production created an environment that felt unfair, discouraging, and emotionally overwhelming.

Shahid revealed he walked off during the shoot on December 9, 2025, and filmed his journey to the studio to mark the moment as clearly as possible. Shahid, an NCA student and one of the most popular contestants among viewers, said he decided to walk off the set “by my own choice.

In a long video, which he posted online, he explained what he referred to as the “final straw” that made him decide to leave the competition.

“Today is December 9, and we had a shoot. But you will not see me in the forthcoming episodes because I left the set today,” he started, explaining that he had shot his entire journey to the studio that day.

“Pakistan Idol had uploaded a video of me, under which I commented, saying this is not my actual voice. It was heavily autotuned, so much so that it did not even sound like me anymore.

As per Shahid, what followed was pressure from everyone on the team. “Many people have tried calling me and asking me to remove my comment, and ever since day one, they have not wanted me to be a part of Pakistan Idol. I don’t know why. Is it because I want to produce good music?”

“The person running the show” warned him about possible legal proceedings should he voice his thoughts either publicly or within the media, according to him. “But I will talk, and I will tell everyone the truth,” he continued, as he complained about the fact that “the team exploited contestants” and had “disqualified all the good contestants.”

However, Shahid added that trust had been broken as a result of this experience. “Everything you see on camera is a facade. And I can’t act. None of my performances have been scripted – except for Pakistan Idol,” he said.

Although he complimented the judges as “great,” he said that it was the “production house’s” conduct that had “broken” him and “broken” everyone who stood behind him, including his teachers and NCA schoolmates.

“I know the step I’ve taken will bring problems for me…but now you guys wait and see the power of the people,” he ended.
