ISLAMABAD: In yet another case of harassment, TikToker Samiya Hijab has said that she was harassed and kidnapped and sought protection from the Islamabad police.

In a video shared on her Instagram, she said that Hasan Zahid, a resident of Lahore, threatened her after she rejected his marriage proposal.

Hijab said that she has filed a complaint at Shalimar Police Station against the accused, who followed her for the past three months with repeated gifts before trying to forcibly abduct her.

She added that on August 31 at around 6:30 pm, the man asked her to accompany him and, upon her refusal, he pushed her into a car in an attempt to kidnap her.

“My ill mother was at home while her brother was away when the incident occurred,” Hijab stated, adding that if she is harmed or killed, the man should be held responsible.

“I don’t want to end up like Sana. I want to speak up and stay safe,” she said. Hijab was referencing the tragic murder of her friend Sana Yousaf, who was killed for refusing a marriage proposal.

She also shared CCTV footage on social media, showing a suspect, wearing a white Shalwar Qameez, trying to forcibly push her into his car.

The TikTok star, in FIR, accused the suspect of openly threatening her life and pushing for revenge. She confirmed that the Islamabad Police have recorded her statement.

Samiya added that the Islamabad police visited her residence and assured her of protection and the arrest of the culprit.
